celebrate we will cause life is short but sweet for certain

We're still alive and semi-well, just have had nothing too exciting to post about! Nick has been working from home for almost 2 months now, and I am now working at a day-care/preschool.

It took a few weeks to get into the swing of working full-time again, and I like it but I am starting to feel un-settled because I am not "following my dreams, and helping people" (excuse, the cheesy-ness) there are so many children and individuals who I could be serving here in Chicago and instead I am watching rich peoples kids who are at a center for 12 hours a day ( so sad!) So, I am looking for new opportunities....again!

Last week I dragged Nick to the Green Festival, it was amazing and also what made me a little sad that I am not currently pursuing any of my passions! Anyways, we bought new stainless steel water bottles and tossed out our cancer causing nalgenes, more reusable shopping bags, used books, and other green stuff that I say we need and Nick says we "need."

This weekend we put a deposit on our new son! After doing lots of research on different breeds and visiting the dog rescue; we decided on a West Highland Terrier from a reputable (no awful mill conditions as seen on Oprah recently) breeder in southern Illinois! Please vote in the poll for what his name will be and we are picking him up on June 26th!

We have started to sort and pack for our move on June 14th, we are so excited to be in a bigger apartment with a balcony and no more construction noise, sirens, and street performers at all hours of the day!

Our Dave Matthews Band tickets came in the mail for June 6th, so that gives us something to look forward to through all the work and stress of work and moving!

kiva

this is one of the groups i have loaned money to through Kiva! it is such a great site you can go through hundreds of profiles to read about their business ideas and life situations and then loan them money, and when they repay it you can lend it to someone else! i would love to work for a place organization like this one!

in other news of nick and i trying to make the world a better place as much as we can, we received a very nice letter from the Zenaida the 10 year old Zambian girl we sponsor. We would love to visit her on our trip to Africa next year!
